- Abstract
This document is an editorial that discusses the concept of emotion regulation (ER) and its importance in psychology. It highlights different models of ER and its impact on mental health, particularly in relation to disordered eating behaviors. The document includes studies that explore the role of ER in the development of eating disorders and obesity, as well as its relationship with other psychological and biological markers. The findings suggest that difficulties in ER may be linked to impaired eating behaviors and can serve as a prognostic index for mental health problems. The studies also suggest the potential for personalized interventions based on ER skills to address emotional eating habits.
