- Abstract
Indian companies have been playing a prominent role in the area of investment in Ethiopia. Currently some 427 Indian companies have investment licenses in Ethiopia in which more than 300 companies have very active operations. The areas involved include: agriculture including floriculture, engineering, plastics, pharmaceuticals and hotels and restaurants. Indian companies have shown a keen interest in investing in Ethiopia, identifying it as a country that is stable with sound macroeconomic policies and good governance. Ethiopia is known for its pleasant weather, kind people and abundant labor, safe place to live and work, strategically located around broader regional in the African continent and the Middle East, relatively.
