- Abstract
This article presents the program of the 1991 European Meeting of the Econometric Society that will be held at University of Cambridge, England during September 2-6, 1991. The members of the organizing committees are as follows: David Newbery, Steve Pudney, Elettra Agliardi, Roberta Dessi, Chris Doyle, Konstantine Gatsios, Giorgia Giovannetti, Piero Gottardi, Richard Green, Kevin Lee, William Peterson, Hossain Samiei, Jonathan Thomas and Martin Weale. The special lectures which will be held are as follows: Fisher-Schultz Lecture, "Making a Miracle," by Robert Lucas and Presidential Address, "Organizing the Medical Insurance Market," by Peter Diamond. The lectures which will be held on Tuesday, September 3 are as follows: "The Dynamics of Optimal Gradual Stabilization," Alex Cukierman; "Bureaucracy and Time Consistency: Is Democracy Biased Towards Debt Financing and LArge Governments With Incompetent Bureaucrats?," by Pertti Happaranta and Mikko Puhakka; "Asset Returns With Transactions Costs and Uninsured Individual Risk," by S. Rao Aiyagari and Mark Gertler; "The Interaction Between Nonexpected Utility and Asymmetric Market Fundamentals," by Mao-Wei Hung; "Good Times, Bad Times, and Vertical Upstream Integration," by Winand Emos and "More Efficient Rent-Seeking," by Wolfgang Leininger.
