- Abstract
The article discusses the effects of different types of footwear's on the athlete's gait and prevention of injury caused by them. It states a comparison between the conventional and minimalistic shoes on several criterions' including sole of the shoe, landing of the foot, and common injuries involved. It explains the relation of footstrike to foot-injuries and the influence of footwear design in preventing injuries. It suggests runners and clinicians to be aware when selecting the shoes.
