- Abstract
The article examines the role of local communities in the implementation of the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) awards in the U.S. by carrying out Los Angeles, California-based NMTC projects. It examines the development of the Community Economic Development (CED) movement and discusses Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and NMTC. It examines case studies of institutions such as Los Angeles Charter School New Markets CDE and Bethany Square CDE which were allocated with NMTC award.
