- Abstract
The author reflects on the comparative studies of animal behavior. It notes that comparative cognition intends to understand the evolution of cognition. It cites the influence of cultural evolution on the widening gap between humans and animals. It relates the interest of humans in the subjective life of animals, as well as the scientific origins of cognitive science. It explores whether interspecies communication require mind reading.
