- Abstract
The article discusses holistic musical teaching methods, which include education and practice in psychological wellness. Philosophical consideration of the self as an integrated whole began in the 17th century and continued toward the end of the 20th century. Music teaching organizations promote musician health, stressing mental health as an important component of musician wellness. Some of the psychological factors that affect performance include anxiety and a critical conscious mind.
