- Abstract
Objective: assess coronary risk in hospitalized patients the likelihood of developing an acute myocardial infarction over the next decade and discuss the nursing care based on scientific evidence. Method: this is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 42 hospitalized patients. Data were collected between May and June 2013. This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Bahia (protocol 266.907). Results: it was checked that 42.5% of hospitalized present a high risk of developing myocardial infarction within the next 10 years. Conclusion: The data reveal that there are hospitalized patients in coronary risk becoming clear that the risk was higher with increasing age.
