Moreover, besides their expertise in kidney transplantation, transplant professionals could find partners in patients' relatives who could help them better understand patients' values. B O b ften called the "silent killer", chronic kidney disease is difficult to diagnose until the patient is at an advanced stage when they experience symptoms such as nausea, high blood pressure, and fatigue. When I was in the third year of my sociology degree at university in Senegal, I had these symptoms, and the doctor at the social health center diagnosed chronic kidney disease.
