- Title
Joint crepitus - are we failing our patients?
- Authors
Robertson, Claire J.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the patient's concern regarding joint crepitus The author says that the definition of joint crepitus is one that is difficult to answer but is already available because of imaging and arthroscopy. He adds that the recognition of intra-articular and extra-articular derived sounds is useful in providing explanations. He mentions that patients should be reminded that cartilage is not the source of pain, while many of the internet sites led people to self-misdiagnosis.
