- Authors
VAN HOUSE, JOSEPH
- Abstract
This article serves as a memorial for Fr. Roch Kereszty, a theologian who believed in understanding the meaning of a person's life rather than just focusing on empirical facts. He received his theological education in Rome and was influenced by ressourcement-minded monk-professors at the Benedictine Athenaeum of Sant'Anselmo. Fr. Roch taught theology at the University of Dallas and wrote extensively on Catholic theology, particularly on core questions such as Christology and ecclesiology. The article also explores Fr. Roch's role as a teacher and mentor, his early life in Budapest, and his formative experiences under the guidance of Fr. Lóránt Sigmond. It emphasizes the importance of faith, love, and trust in God's providence in shaping Fr. Roch's life and work.
