- Abstract
Abstract: This paper considers the problem of the optimum interplanetary transfer of a spacecraft equipped with an uncontrolled electric propulsion system (EPS). The control-optimization criterion is considered the fuel consumption value or the transfer time, which are minimized. The maximum-principle formalism is used to find the optimum control law. Using the problem of transfer to Mars as an example, the structure and relationship of various locally optimum solutions belonging to various families of extremals is revealed.
