- Abstract
The article presents information on biological variation and its relation with traits of production, reproduction and genetic diseases in poultry. As reported, polymorphs of different proteins are more or less genetically correlated with the economic traits like fertility, hatchability, body weight, age at sexual maturity, egg production and egg shell quality. Also, the body weight and egg production are affected by serum alkaline phosphatase, transferrin and haemoglobin polymorphism.
