A roundtable discussion is presented which analyzes the film "Pariah" directed by Dee Rees. Particular focus is given to the film's depiction of a black lesbian character and its relationship to black film culture in the U.S. at large. Topics discussed include identity, national belonging, film festivals, and independent films.
