- Abstract
The article presents research on blue eye disease, a viral swine disease that is endemic in Mexico and caused by a porcine rubulavirus (PoRV). Atypical outbreaks of the disease were detected in 1990 and 2003 that produced neurological signs and reproductive problems in pigs. This study analyzed the hemagglutinin-neuraminidase protein and found the PoRV strains were genetically and antigenetically different.
