- Abstract
The objective of the study is to analyze the utility of virtual environments as a technological resource that complements and perfects the pedagogical work of university teachers, as well as active participation between teachers and students. To demonstrate the results, a field study was carried out with a sample of 274 professors from the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo (ESPOCH). The data was selected through a random survey. Results show that 93,07% of interviewed teachers affirm that the use of virtual environments contributes to the improvement of the teaching-learning process and thus the quality of university education. Virtual reality achieves greater and more collaborative interaction between participants of the educational system, facilitating the flow of information, flexibility in the time and space dedicated to learning.
