- Abstract
The article discusses the results of a research on food habits during the Middle Ages in the Basque Country, Spain, based on a stable isotope analysis of materials from excavations of medieval towns located in Aistra, Treviño, Zaballa, and Zornostegi. A description of the four archaeological digs is provided, as well as the methodology used for the stable isotope analysis. Topics discussed include type of diet, meat consumption, and inequalities in food consumption.
