The article presents the author's views on the things he learned from the Harvard School, highlighting his study on Virgil's works. These things are Virgil's language, episodic structure, and control of imagery and that all movement seeks preeminence until it feeds its own extremes. Also discussed are his Doctorvater Brooks Otis, his editorship of the "Vergilius" periodical, and Virgilian scholarship.
