- Authors
Montoya, Claudia
- Abstract
A literary criticism of "El luto humano," by José Revueltas is presented. The author's depiction of Mexican history and identity is compared with that of contemporary 20th Century Mexican essayists Emilio Uranga, Leopoldo Zea, and Octavio Paz. The cultural and historical background of the Mexican Revolution is noted, and Revuelta's leftist political stance and its influence on his writings is explored.
