- Abstract
The article presents a study that tested benzocaine, 2-phenoxyethanol and MS-222 as anaesthetics for several handling procedures with spotted rose snapper Lutjanus guttatus broodstock. The study revealed differences in time for induction and recovery in specific doses as well as direct correlation between the dose and the induction time. It showed specific anaesthesia levels for each procedure. It found MS-222 as the most effective agent for inducing deep anaesthesia, followed by 250 microliter of 2-phenoxyethanol.
