The article discusses the Berlin Airlift in which supplies were airlifted from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe to U.S. military garrisons in Berlin using C-47 transport planes in response to Soviet Union dictator Joseph Stalin's restrictions of land traffic to Western Berlin. Topics include the Berlin Blockade, currency reform, and Operation Vittles, or the U.S. part of the airlift.
