- Abstract
Introduction: This descriptive study aimed to analyze the relations between posture changes, time of practice, number of injuries, impact magnitude in the knee and ankle in landing of thrown technique in handball. Materials and Methods: Nine university athletes with average of age 22.2±1.4 years and time of practice 7.1±2.7 years participated in this study. A questionnaire, the PSU postural evaluation and a tri-axial accelerometer were used with instruments of measure. The dates were collect in the UFSC Biomechanics Laboratory and were analyzed through descriptive statistics and no-parametric statistics. Results: The results showed that: for posture changes, 4/9 athletes had knee flexuous and 3/9 had feet abducted; for the injuries, the knee (5/9) and ankle (3/9) were the body segments affected; the correlations between number of injuries and impact magnitude in the ankle - axel z (rc=0.64) and between posture changes and impact magnitude in the ankle - axel y (rc=0.71) showed statistics significance. Conclusion : The athletes had knee flexuous and feet abducted; the impact magnitude can be considerate how injuries mechanism, as well as a intervenient factor in the posture changes of the handball athletes.
