- Abstract
The dog rested his head gently on the patient's arm, where the propofol was being injected, as the child drifted off to sleep, and then calmly exited the anesthetic room under the instruction of the patient's mother. We also decided that a dog shouldn't be admitted in the recovery area, due to the length of stay, the shared space with other patients, and potential adverse reactions with the dog, staff, other patients, or families. Dear Editor, Animals, especially dogs, are well known to support patients.
