- Title
The BEACHON Project.
- Abstract
The article offers information about the field project Bio-hydro-atmosphere Interactions of Energy, Aerosols Interactions of Energy, Aerosols, Carbon, H[2]O, Organics and Nitrogen (BEACHON) in the Rocky Mountains. It discusses that it was developed due to the findings by scientists that mountain pine beetles appear to be doing more than killing large swaths of forests. They suspected that they are also altering local weather patterns and air quality. It specifies BEACHON will allow scientists to glean insights into topics including cloud formation, climate change, cycling of gases and particles between the land and the atmosphere.
