- Abstract
The article offers some advice on how a teacher can help her students to get the most out of their science reading. It was suggested that science class is an ideal place for students to develop interests and strategies for informational reading. However, with the promotion of hands-on science, many teachers imply that reading is not appropriate in science. One should remember that student motivation is very important especially in reading achievement. In addition, the instructional strategies and approaches used for reading science can affect student science learning. Reading opportunities can be offered at different stages of the science learning cycle to help students build science knowledge.
