The article talks about the limited or no attention in archives received by cartoons particularly those produced by African Americans. Topics include the impact of categorization on the precarity of Black editorial cartoons, African American artists associated with a fine art tradition who started their career as cartoonists such as Hale Woodruff and Charles Alston, and comments on Wilbert L. Holloway's editorial cartoon published in "Courier" depicting indifferences to African American women.
