Eine Reihe von Peptoiden, oder Oligomeren N ‐ substituierter Glycine, nimmt die neuartige Sekundärstruktur des „Peptoid ‐ Bands“ ein. Diese Faltungsweise ist bei geringen Kettenlängen und in vielfältigen Medien (organisch und wässrig) stabil und folgt aus einer Primärsequenz von Peptoidmonomeren, die eine abwechselnde cis ‐ und trans ‐ Anordnung der Amidgruppen in der Hauptkette erzwingt.
