Dianionische monomere und P ‐ P ‐ Kupplungsprodukte werden durch die Reduktion von Pentaphosphaferrocen mit KH oder Kaliummetall erhalten, während durch Oxidation ein P ‐ P ‐ verknüpftes P102+ ‐ Derivat, das an zwei Cp*Fe ‐ Komplexfragmente koordiniert, zugänglich ist. Bezüglich seines Redoxverhaltens unterscheidet sich Pentaphosphaferrocen klar von Ferrocen.
