- Abstract
The colloquial level of language found in the lexis of the Greek tragedy reveals a certain preference for standard dialogue usage and for paying attention to speech function, as our study will show. Thus, for instance, use of absolute or intensive comparative, superlative forms in answers, frequent use of the particle ge to stress the meaning of some words, iteration of words followed by [...] accumulation of superlatives, resumption in an answer of a word used by the one who asks, the ellipsis, etc., can be seen all of them as features of the dialogical nature of language that reflects itself lexis of the Greek tragedy.
