The article reports on CORESafety, a mine safety initiative developed by the National Mining Association (NMA). The goal of the common safety and health framework is to achieve zero fatalities and a 50-percent reduction in the rate of injuries in U.S. mining. A graph is presented that shows the number of accidents in Great Britain before and after the adoption of a plan-do-act-check safety model.
