- Abstract
Information about the author's proposal to conserve the plant name Goniothalamus against Richella, from the family of Annonaceae, is presented. He notes that Goniothalamus is one of the largest palaeotropical genera in the Annonaceae with 130 species widely distributed in tropical lowland forests of Southeast Asia. He adds that the plant name Goniothalamus originated in 1830 when a certain botanist published the name Polyalthia sect.
