- Abstract
Taking Gange No.1 as experimental material, and treatments of flat cultivation and ridging cultivation were set up to analyze the effects of ridging cultivation on soil physicochemical properties, yield, biomass and cadmium accumulation of Pueraria thomsonii, to study the treatment methods of Cd-contaminated paddy fields in Xinyu and to screen alternative economic crops for paddy fields. The results showed that compared with flat cultivation, the tuber yield and aboveground biomass of ridge cultivation was improved by 13.96% and 7.02%. The soil pH, organic matter, cation exchange capacity, total cadmium and available cadmium of ridge cultivation were improved by 7.34 %, 11.48 %, 0.97 %, 16.67 % and 8.00 %. Ridge cultivation also increased the cadmium content in tuber (67.74%), radix puerariae (52.24%), basal part of stem (20.51%) and leaf (5.43%) of Pueraria thomsonii, but reduced the cadmium content in arrowroot (20.00%), main vine (10.13%) and lateral branch (3.54%) of Pueraria thomsonii. The cadmium content in different parts of Pueraria thomsonii showed as lateral branch > main vine > basal part of stem > leaf > tuber. In summary, ridge cultivation can improve soil environment, and increase the yield and biomass of Pueraria thomsonii, but there is a risk of increasing the Cd content in soil and Pueraria thomsonii.
