- Abstract
The article focuses on the results of a study of naturally occurring Parkinson's disease (PD) in a cynomolgus monkey. Topics discussed include the significance of the discovery of the disease to the evolutionary understanding of PD, the reason for the failure to determine the incidence rate of PD in wild monkey populations, and the role of genetically modified monkeys with LRRK2 mutations as feasible models in studies.
