- Abstract
High rise syndrome is the term used to describe the pathological conditions encountered when cats fall from a minimum of the second floor (approximately 7 meters high) and above heights of buildings. High rise syndrome is more commonly seen in cats under the age of 1, and causes serious orthopedic problems, respiratory problems with high mortality rates such as pneumothorax and hemothorax, and orofacial traumas. High rise syndrome, which has a high survival rate in cats due to the straightening reflex that develops at a young age, is one of the problems encountered quite frequently in certain periods (March-October). In this review, information was given about the latest developments in the pathological conditions that may occur in cats due to falling from a height.
