- Abstract
Subgrade slumping along the river side is one of the typical disasters of cut-and-fill subgrade. Aiming al the collapse problem of a highway along the river in Lueyang county, the mechanism of collapse was analyzed by using the methods of field investigation and numerical analysis, starting with its deformation and failure characteristics and the change of hydrological environment. Field investigation reveals that rainfall is the direct cause of the rising water level of the Jialing River. The soil was embedded in front of the retaining wall when the river scoured the retaining wall, which caused leakage of the foundation of the wall. Il resulted in instability of the subgrade slope and sliding of the retaining wall, and longitudinal cracks in the road surface. With the help of GeoSludio software, the development process of the roadbed stability, the internal soil yield, the road surface and retaining wall were analyzed. The change law of the shear stress of road surface and wall back al different stages were analyzed. The evolution process of roadbed disaster was quantitatively analyzed. The research results show that river erosion and the buried depth of the retaining wall foundation are the important factors affecting the stability of the roadbed slope.
