- Abstract
Arab history witnessed a great many wars. Wars were inevitable not only between tribes but also with other neighboring non-Arab peoples in the process of territorial expansion. Poets served as palace poets of Islamic dynasties, praising their rulers and propagating their achievements. In times of war, they wrote poems to boost morale and to encourage their people and their nation to overcome adversities. This paper will investigate how those Arab poets dealt with war and how they operated in times of war through their poems during the medieval Islamic era.
