- Abstract
This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using Word Press game mechanics in the learning process (Gamification) in Word Press blog to develop the cognitive aspects of mathematics for female high school students in Jeddah. The researcher adopted the experimental design, where game mechanics technique was applied through Word Press blog; using Avada system. A valid test for cognitive aspects as well as a satisfaction measurement tool were developed using game mechanics in mathematics. The sample consisted of (68) female high school students in the Fifth School in Jeddah City, divided into an experimental group (n=35) using the game mechanics strategy and a control group (n=33) using the traditional way. And to test the hypothesis, an Independent Samples T-test deviation was used to measure the satisfaction about using game mechanics in mathematics and the educational process. Research results showed statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups in the cognitive aspects test in mathematics; favoring the experimental group, and the satisfaction level of the high school students using game mechanics to develop the cognitive aspects in math came out (positive). According to the results, the researcher recommended using the Game Mechanics Strategy in Mathematics, and to carry out further studies on game mechanics on all education and age levels, and to train teachers on how to use game mechanics strategy in education, and for the Ministry of Education to adopt game mechanics as one of the modern strategies that focuses on the learner's positivity and investing in the current technological development
