The article discusses the author's views on the central dilemma faced by journalism professors to maintain standards for knowledge and ethics in the U.S. He cites the best practices of American journalists in the book "The Elements of Journalism" by Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel. The author thinks that journalism is wasted when journalists and journalism professors do not possess the necessary knowledge and skills.
