- Abstract
In determining the quality and improvement of the education and school; the importance of guidance, inspection and evaluation processes are obvious. Today, the main purpose of the inspection is seen as to provide needed assistance to the teacher. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the teachers' and the inspectors' mutual expectations about the guidance and inspection carried out by the inspectors, teachers' demands for assistance and inspectors' realizations of these demands; the perceptions of the teachers about inspectors and their desire to share the problems which they faced and the feelings of the teachers and inspectors towards each other. This research is a descriptive study based on the inspectors' and teachers' perceptions. It was carried out with the participation of 26 people in total, 8 of them inspectors and 18 of them teachers in Izmir. Data were collected through negotiations using a semi-structured interview form. Descriptive analysis was used as a data analysis technique. The obtained results in this study have revealed that the inspectors and teachers' views on research problems overlap in some cases and contradict in some cases.
