- Abstract
In the 21st century, under the influence of technology, changing nature and human understandings, and transforming historical and cultural codes, it becomes necessary to rethink and question the concepts of family, parenthood and child. Particularly, discussions about who and what a child is, who has been made an object of industrial production and consumption in different dimensions, come first. In addition to this, the discussions in terms of cultural, historical, religious, physical, legal and economic dimensions and responsibilities of being a parent are progressing in relation to each other. The pre- and postnatal physical processes of the child-parent relationship, basic education and parental attitudes within the family, etc. are discussed in terms of autonomy-freedom, human dignity and self-consciousness. In this paper, we will analyze the problems that arise or are likely to arise in the context of deontological ethical arguments and new bioethical discussions.
