- Abstract
The Cologne-based specialty chemicals company Lanxess recorded an increase in sales and earnings in 2022. The company's sales amounted to 8.088 billion euros, which corresponds to an increase of 32.6 percent compared to the previous year. The group's profit increased by 60 percent to 184 million euros. The sales were mainly driven by additives such as rubber chemicals, lubricant additives, and flavor and fragrance substances. Lanxess has expanded its flavor and fragrance business and sold its technical polymers business. The company has also acquired and spun off new business areas to generate additional revenue. The dividend per share is 1.05 euros. Lanxess plans to use the profit mainly for debt reduction. The demand is currently subdued, but the company is confident that it will weather this economic phase well.
