- Abstract
The article presents the results of several studies involving the comparison of the linguistic situation in 1971 and 1981 in Canada. These studies tend to determine the significant changes within the ten-year period including its effect on the government policy. It also presents the final study entitled "Language Use in Canada," which assesses the variety of language characteristics of the Canadian population in consideration with their educational and marital status, urban and rural residency, and period of immigration.
