- Abstract
This article, published in the British Journal of Dermatology, discusses a case of a 16-year-old girl with progressive hyperpigmentation and lentigines since birth. The girl was found to have a genetic variant in the KIT gene, which is associated with these skin conditions. Treatment with imatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, significantly improved the girl's skin within 6 months. The study was approved by the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Dermatology Hospital, Southern Medical University.
