- Abstract
This article presents the findings of a study conducted in Kolkata, India, which aimed to assess the psychological well-being (PWB) of elderly individuals attending a geriatric clinic. The study revealed that a significant proportion of participants had poor PWB, indicating a need for improved social support systems. Factors such as socioeconomic status, living arrangements, employment history, recent injuries, and spiritual history were found to be associated with PWB. The study suggests that enhancing geriatric health services and integrating mental well-being into healthcare programs are crucial for addressing the low levels of PWB among older adults.
