Abstract
The article discusses several court cases related to employee fringe benefits in the U.S. They include the ERISA withdrawal liability case Burke v. Lash Work Environments. Another is Einhorn v. ML Ruberton wherein the successor was found liable for withdrawal liability. Also included is Black v. MetLife wherein ERISA preempts determinations of marital status made by state probate courts.
