- Abstract
The article offers information on the study regarding the weaving practice, called mamuu of Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations people of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. It states that the first step of weaving process is to sah=as, that means pulling bark from red and yellow cedar trees. It says that girls are usually the weavers wherein they are taught by older women of their families. It argues that for the Nuu-chah-nulth people, weaving connects them to their family, history, and tradition.
