- Abstract
A two year old Labrador weighing 25 kg was presented with conscious discomfort while squatting or sitting, abnormal gait and swelling of hind limbs. The dog had a history of regular vaccination and deworming. On clinical examination, the dog was active and no lameness was observed during walking but mild enlargement of popliteal lymph node was noticed. Peripheral blood smear examination revealed presence of no haemoparasites. The dog was suffering from hypochromic microcytic anaemia and neutrophilic leukocytosis. ECG revealed presence of sinus rhythm. Ultrasonographic examination revealed mild hyper echogenicity of liver. Low positive reaction with ratio of 1:20 was observed in immune comb assay for Ehrlichiosis (E. Canis). Dog was successfully treated with Doxycycline and imidocarb dipropionate.
