The article discusses the impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the revision of assignments in the education sector. These AI technologies, such as ChatGPT and Google Bard, have the ability to generate fluent prose and summarize text but lack factual accuracy. Faculty members are rethinking their assignments for the fall semester, considering the affordances and limitations of AI tools. The article proposes a set of questions to guide the revision process, including considering the learning objectives, potential use of AI tools, and ways to enhance the assignment. The author emphasizes the need for informed and intentional decisions to adapt to the changing technology landscape.
