- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the risk for glaucoma development or progression in patients with Boston keratoprosthesis type 1 or K-Pro implantation. Ophthalmologist Julia C. Talajic stresses the need for treating ophthalmologists to observe caution as well as monitor intraocular pressure (IOP) when dealing with such patients. Findings show that 89% of the patients had glaucoma while 21% exhibited glaucoma progression. It adds that 87% of patients posted an improvement in visual acuity.
