- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the use of intravitreal bevacizumab in treating patients who are nonresponsive to previous treatment for cystoid macular edema (CME) following cataract surgery. CME is a common complication of cataract surgery. Results of the study showed that patients' mean best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) improved from 20/60 prior to bevacizumab injection to a mean 20/30 at one week, 20/25 at one month and 20/20 at three months after injection. There also was an improvement in macula thickness.
